14.04.2017 Communication from Delhi Public School Tapi

Dear Parent / Authorised Guardian

The Government of Gujarat has passed The Gujarat Self Financed Schools (Regulation of Fees) Act 2017. This Act has many provisions, including the procedure for determining the fees after considering various factors, by the fee regulatory committee.

The Education Department of the Govt of Gujarat, has issued a Circular dated 07/04/2017 clarifying that private schools can collect fees as per the last academic year’s fees as an interim arrangement of fees collection, to avoid conflict between school and parents. The said Circular states that the amount of fees shall be subject to recovery / adjustment, after the fee regulatory committee fixes the fees for individual schools.

In accordance with the above circular and until further information, all parents are requested to pay fees hereafter as per last year’s fees and ECS will be generated accordingly. It is clarified that the fees paid presently, as per last year’s fees, shall only be an interim arrangement, as proposed by the Govt. and is subject to the final decision of the fee regulatory committee. Adjustment of further payment or adjustment / recovery of amount in subsequent fees shall be intimated to you as and when required.

You have taken admission for your ward at DPS Tapi because of its high standards in academics, co-curricular activities, sports, teachers, support staff, infrastructure, etc. The DPST priority has always been to provide the best quality of nurturing education to students. This in turn has ensured good Board results and the all round development of students. The Learning Partnership between school and home has always been the ground rock of existence for DPS Tapi. This Learning Partnership has thrived due to instant and transparent communication between school and parents on all matters concerning students.

Every responsible and informed parent is therefore, aware that running Delhi Public School Tapi requires various resources that have a huge impact on the Capital and Operational Expenditures of school. In addition to the expenditures of imparting world-class sports, academics and extra-curricular education, the recruitment, training and retention of teachers and support staff constitutes a major financial challenge, which DPS Tapi has fulfilled with integrity. These points are reiterated here to clarify the current situation and to ensure transparency and clear communication between parents and the school.

Delhi Public School Tapi, subject to the school’s rights of legal recourses and without prejudice to the same, is informing all parents of the present situation of fees payment through this communication. DPS Tapi, while following rules and regulations, will continue its dedicated endeavour to impart quality education to students with due parental support in this Learning Partnership.

On behalf of the school Management and Staff, I would like to extend my sincere gratitude to all parents for their continual support since our inception in 2009 and hope for a continuation of our strong Learning Partnership.

Dr. Sanjukta Sivakumar
